Season Preview: Hull Kingston Rovers

With the Super 8s no longer apart of the league structure, there is still pressure on Hull K.R. to avoid relegation. A top half finish will be a priority for Tim Sheens but I feel that the Robins will fall short and get caught up with the Broncos at the bottom.

The signings made by Rovers have made a significant improvement to their squad but some rather big losses have meant that there is still not that much strength in depth.

Todd and Justin Carney are back in Australia, Danny Tickle is playing for Workington and ,youngsters, Matty Marsh and Liam Salter have signed for York City Knights.

Josh Drinkwater comes in after leading Catalans to Challenge Cup Final victory and will provide competition in the halves as Danny McGuire plays out his final year. Chris Atkin will also look to improve on his impressive 2018 performances.

Craig Hall and Ben Crooks improved in last years qualifiers and have been bought in on a permanent basis with George Lawler taking the ball-playing role load off Shaun Lunt who returns from long-term absence last season.

Kane Linnett is a internationally renowned player who replaces Andrew Heffernan, who retired on medical grounds.

Mitch Garbutt and Jimmy Keinhorst provide a much-needed bulk up front, especially as Nick Scruton will miss the first through months through injury.

Now back training at Craven Park following a floodlight collapse, they are all set to face closing rivals Hull FC on Friday 1st February.
