Season Preview: Catalans Dragons

Despite all the drama surrounding the Dragons and their potential Challenge Cup, the fact that most of the on-field business had been completed early on means that the squad is settled going into what will be a defining campaign for the French side.

Last Season their league form was disrupted by the world cup, but they came home strongly at Wembley to create history and put them on the sporting map. So much so that their fixture against Wigan in round 15 at the Camp Nou is highly anticipated.

The arrivals of Matty Smith, Sam Tomkins and Matt Whiteley bolster the ranks that already include Kenny Edwards, Tony Gigot and, captain, Remi Casty. The absense of Josh Drinkwater should not be missed thanks to Smith and Tomkins who are both proven winners.

How they are affected travel-wise post-Brexit is a potential logistical issue but the Dragons are capable of reaching the upper half of the table without having to get involved in a relegation battle
