St Helens have lifted the League Leaders Shield tonight as a 38-12 victory against Hull FC secured top spot with a two games to spare.

Saints, only needed a point to guarentee top spot in Super League, took an early lead with tries from Ben Barba and Morgan Knowles.

However, Jordan Lane and Brad Fash crossed for Hull to level up the scores.

Two late Luke Thompson tries put Saints back in front at half-time.

The hosts pulled away after half-time as a brace from Welsh Winger Regan Grace and one from Mark Percival sealed the result.

They now face a wait to see who they face in the semi-final as Castleford and Wigan fight for second spot. Whoever they face, they will play them at home.

Either side could still make second, so Saints don’t know who they will face in three weeks time.
